Where do free samples come from?

There are lots of reasons why companies give away free samples uk and free stuff uk ranging from promoting a new product or line, but there are other not so well known reasons such as product testing, where they will give out freebies to people who must then test and vet the product and report back to the manufacturer informing them of the highs and lows of whatever it is they have trialed.
